Among the prominent names in this exciting auction frenzy is Patrick Mahomes II, the Kansas City superstar who has already won two Super Bowl championships. One of the standout items is a 2017 autographed Panini National Treasures Black card, which fetched an impressive $19,300 through 62 bids. Another notable Mahomes card, a 2017 signed Panini Contenders Rookie Ticket graded BGS 9.5, garnered $16,577 from 51 bids. These prices demonstrate the immense value placed on Mahomes’ cards due to his incredible success on the field.

In the AFC Championship game, Mahomes faces off against Lamar Jackson from the Baltimore Ravens. Jackson, who is a front-runner for the 2023 NFL MVP award, has also seen his rookie cards command significant attention in the market. A Gem-Mint 2018 Panini Prizm Black Finite card of Jackson fetched an astounding $51,100 through 76 bids. Another sought-after item is a 2018 National Treasures autographed patch card, numbered #27/99 and graded BGS 9.5, which sold for $18,000 on 39 bids. These prices reflect the growing demand for Jackson’s cards fueled by his impressive performances and versatility on the field.

Meanwhile, in the NFC Championship game, Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers and Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions will battle it out for a chance to secure a spot in the Super Bowl. Purdy, who is in his second year and has shown great promise, has seen his rookie cards attract high bids in the market. One notable auction item is Purdy’s 2022 Playoff Contenders signed Rookie Ticket “Cracked Ice” variation, graded PSA 10 and limited to only 22 copies. This card sold for $10,268 on 27 bids. It’s worth mentioning that several Purdy cards have surpassed the $10,000 mark, including a 2022 National Treasures signed patch card graded PSA 9, which garnered an impressive $15,000 through 53 bids.

Jared Goff, despite a mixed start with the Rams and subsequent improvement since joining the Lions, is also experiencing growing interest in his cards. A 2019 Panini Absolute Kaboom! card, featuring a gold variation labeled #6/10, fetched a respectable $3,049 through 50 bids, demonstrating the value collectors see in Goff’s potential. Additionally, a 2016 Donruss Optic Gold Prizm rookie card marked #2/10 and graded BGS 10 sold for $2,950 on 32 bids, further illustrating the rising demand for Goff’s cards in the marketplace.

The excitement surrounding these standout quarterbacks and their performances in the NFL playoffs is clearly mirrored in the sports memorabilia market. Collectors and enthusiasts alike are showing great interest in the rookie cards of these talented athletes, driving up their value and turning them into sought-after items.
