Topps Unveils Tom Brady’s Unique Baseball Card in 2023 Bowman Draft

Topps is shaking up the world of baseball card collecting with its upcoming release of the 2023 Bowman Draft Baseball collection. In a surprising move, the company has chosen to feature former NFL star Tom Brady on one of its cards. This decision is a nod to Brady’s high school days when he was not only an outstanding football player but also a gifted baseball player. To pay tribute to his potential baseball career, Brady will be seen wearing a Montreal Expos jersey on the card.

Back in his high school years, Brady was selected by the Montreal Expos in the 18th round of the draft. However, he ultimately decided to pursue football at the University of Michigan. The unique series of cards will include 81 autographed cards of Brady, adding a thrilling element of rarity and collectibility. Topps plans to further enhance the excitement surrounding the release with an entertaining video that will surely excite both collectors and fans.

Even before the official release of the collection, one card featuring Brady has already made waves on social media. This particular card features an inscription that hints at Brady’s alternate sports path. With a touch of humor, the inscription suggests that if baseball didn’t work out, Brady always had football as an option. In addition to this amusing inscription, the card also pays homage to the Expos with a French inscription.

The highlight of the 2023 Bowman Draft collection is an autographed card numbered 12/50, a direct nod to Brady’s iconic jersey number. This unique card has already caused a frenzy among collectors, with a private collector offering an astonishing $500,000 for it. The collection also features a rare 1-1 SuperFractor auto card, adding an extra layer of excitement for those lucky enough to come across it.

What makes Brady’s inclusion in this collection even more intriguing is the fact that he is the last Expos draft pick to retire from professional sports. After the 2004 season, the Expos relocated to Washington, D.C., and were rebranded as the Nationals. Brady’s appearance in this series serves as a reminder of the Expos’ legacy and their contribution to the world of sports.

For collectors eager to get their hands on the 2023 Bowman Draft collection, the cards will be available in two formats: Hobby and Jumbo. The Hobby edition includes three autographed cards per box, while the Jumbo edition offers five autographs. The official release date is set for Tuesday, December 12th, giving collectors and fans something to look forward to. However, some boxes have already surfaced, with Hit Factory Sports Cards in Arizona unveiling a non-signed Tom Brady card. In the meantime, autographed Brady cards have already begun appearing on eBay, adding to the excitement and anticipation surrounding this unique collection.

Topps’ decision to feature Tom Brady in the 2023 Bowman Draft collection is a bold move that will undoubtedly captivate both baseball and football fans alike. With its unique concept and limited edition autographed cards, this collection is sure to be a highly sought-after item among collectors. The countdown to the official release has begun, and collectors are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to add this one-of-a-kind Tom Brady baseball card to their collections.
